Sequence Memory Test
This test measures your visual memory. One square lights up, then you tap the same square back.
Each round the sequence grows by one square. A wrong tap ends the test. Your score is the longest sequence you reproduced.

What sequence memory measures
This test measures visuospatial short-term memory: holding a pattern of positions in mind for a few seconds and recalling the order. It is a digital version of the Corsi Block-Tapping Task used in cognitive testing.
The longer the sequence, the harder it gets, because working memory has a limited capacity. That span varies with age, attention and genetics.
Questions
What does this test measure?
Visuospatial short-term memory: your ability to hold a sequence in mind and reproduce it in the right order.
How many levels do people reach?
Most people reach level 7 or 8. Past 10 is a high span, below 5 is on the low side.
Does practice help?
Only a little. Visual memory has a roughly fixed biological span, though attention and focus can sharpen with practice.
